This privacy policy applies to the website weepelgames.com, including the Astral Bounty page, as well as to personal data processed in connection with the game Astral Bounty.

2. Hosting of the website via Cloudflare

This website is provided via Cloudflare Pages. The provider is Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.

When you access the website, technically necessary data is processed. This may include in particular:

This processing is necessary to provide the website in a secure, reliable, and technically functional way.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the secure and trouble-free operation of our website.

Cloudflare processes data as part of providing its services. This may involve processing of personal data outside the European Union or the European Economic Area, which cannot be fully excluded. Cloudflare provides appropriate data protection safeguards for this.

Technical log data is only processed or stored for as long as necessary for the provision, security, and error analysis of the website.

3. Cookies and tracking on our website

Our website currently does not use any of its own analytics, advertising, or marketing services and does not set tracking cookies for this purpose.

One exception is the Steam widget offered on the Astral Bounty page. This does not load automatically but only after a deliberate choice by the visitor. See "Steam widget on the Astral Bounty website" below for details.

Should we use analytics, marketing, or comparable services in the future, this privacy policy will be updated accordingly and, where required, consent will be obtained beforehand.

4. Contact by e-mail

You can contact us via the e-mail addresses provided on this website and in the game, among other channels.

If you send us an e-mail, we process the data you provide, in particular your e-mail address, the content of your message, and any further information you voluntarily share, in order to handle your request.

Depending on the content of the request, processing is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, insofar as the contact serves to initiate or perform a contractual relationship, or on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in processing and answering inquiries.

The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required to handle the request and no statutory retention obligations apply.

The mailto: links in the game simply open the e-mail program set up on your device. Merely displaying these links does not transmit any data to us.

5. Data processing in Astral Bounty

Astral Bounty does not use its own analytics or telemetry services.

We do not operate our own game servers for the game and do not transmit game profiles, settings, local high scores, in-game economy, or comparable game data to our own servers.

This data is generally stored locally on the player's device.

An exception applies to functions provided via the Steam platform, in particular Steam Cloud. More information can be found in the following section.

6. Steam, Steamworks, and Steam Cloud

Astral Bounty is offered via Steam and uses functions of the Steamworks platform of Valve Corporation, 10400 NE 4th St, Bellevue, WA 98004, USA.

The technical connection to Steam within the game is implemented via a Steamworks integration.

This allows Steam functions to be used, in particular Steam Cloud, which lets designated save data be stored via Steam and synced across devices.

In connection with Steam and Steamworks, Valve, according to its own statements, processes among other things data related to the Steam account, the Steam ID, technical data, and information about the use of Steam and of games.

This processing is carried out by Valve as part of the use of the Steam platform and is governed by Valve's own privacy terms.

Through the functions currently in use, we do not receive complete Steam account data of the player and do not carry out our own analytics or profiling based on this data.

Steam Cloud can be disabled or managed via the settings provided by Steam.

In the future, Astral Bounty may use additional Steamworks features such as achievements, statistics, or leaderboards. Once such features are used and the relevant data processing changes as a result, this privacy policy will be updated accordingly.

7. Voluntary feedback via Tally

Within the game, players can optionally open a feedback survey via the service Tally.

The provider is Tally BV, based in Belgium.

The form is not directly embedded in the game. If you select the corresponding button, the survey opens in your default browser.

Participation is entirely voluntary.

The survey can be used in particular to submit ratings, opinions, and free-text feedback about Astral Bounty.

When the survey is opened, the following information is also automatically transmitted as part of the link:

This information helps us match incoming feedback to the corresponding game version and the feedback feature within the game.

Optional e-mail address

Providing an e-mail address in the feedback form is not required.

You may voluntarily provide an e-mail address if you'd like us to be able to contact you with follow-up questions about your feedback.

Any e-mail address provided this way is used exclusively in connection with the respective feedback and not for newsletters, advertising, or other marketing purposes.

Feedback data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in evaluating player feedback and improving and further developing Astral Bounty.

Where you voluntarily provide an e-mail address for follow-up questions, its processing serves exclusively the contact option you requested in connection with your feedback.

Tally processes the data submitted via the form as a processor. Tally provides a data processing agreement for this purpose and states that it processes personal data in accordance with GDPR requirements.

Feedback and any voluntarily provided e-mail address are stored only for as long as necessary to evaluate the feedback and handle any related follow-up questions, provided no statutory retention obligations apply.

8. External links in the game and on the website

Astral Bounty and our website contain links to external services. These include in particular:

Within the game, such links are only opened once you deliberately select the corresponding button. The respective page then opens in your default browser or, where supported, in the Steam overlay.

Merely displaying the buttons in the game does not establish any connection to Discord, Twitch, YouTube, or TikTok.

Only once you open an external link is a connection established to the respective provider. This may transmit in particular your IP address and further technical data to that provider.

The subsequent data processing on these external platforms is governed by the respective provider's own privacy terms.

9. Steam widget on the Astral Bounty website

A Steam widget provided by Valve Corporation can be displayed on the Astral Bounty page.

The widget does not load automatically when the website is accessed normally.

Instead, a placeholder is shown first. Only once you deliberately click "Load Steam Widget" is a connection to Steam established and the actual widget loaded from Steam.

This may transmit in particular your IP address and technical connection data to Valve. Steam may also use cookies or comparable technologies.

The widget only loads as a result of your prior choice.

Insofar as consent is required for loading the widget, processing is based on Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Insofar as information is stored on or read from your device in this process, the applicable statutory provisions on the protection of information on terminal equipment apply in addition.

Any consent given can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future.

10. No automated decision-making

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
